BEWARE Police are Making Money !!

This is just to warn everybody who is driving around on La Marina urbanisation.

The Police are situated at the moment in Los Rosales. In fact if you are driving down C/Maria Callas, it is where you reach the rather peculiar layed out markings and go to turn left or right, the Police are sitting just to the right - 2 houses up pulling over cars that they claim have NOT completely stopped at the give way junction.

In fact a local builder we know has just been issued with a 200 euros fine for having only slowed down.

It seems the Police are pulling over Business vehicles with English writing on the side of them.

SO BEWARE!!

Sometimes this forum does what it is meant to do,That is to advise us,So thanks Sunshine

Well if they do not STOP at a STOP sign then they are breaking the law I walk near this junction and this is a accident waiting to happen there is also a private road that exits onto this junction it only needs one car not stopping while one car is coming out onto the road.I have seen cars accelerating through this junction. Must admit it is a very bad laid out junction and could do with altering but if you do not drive to the road signs then you are breaking the law

yes david you are completely right, but in fairness,Sunshine said, the police were stopping cars and claiming they had not stopped, also seemed to be picking on trade vehicles with English writing. So if sunshines warning means that a driver of a vehicle with English writing makes a diversion to avoid this junction he has done someone a favour,Which in my mind is what can be good about local forums

A friend of mine was stopped and fined 200 euros for not indicating after stopping and wating to turn right at this junction. Is it an offence not to indicate before turning or is indicating advisory ? any one know for certain, before we lodge an appeal.

Whats the bets, that if you ask a dozen police officers, that question, you will get a dozen different answers.
In my mind the only safe way is to indicate every intended turn regardless of any sign, that way I should think you will be O.K.Most of the time

Hiya Folks!
I bet you a €100 that by 10am tomorrow the politicians will claim that they know nothing about this, they will look into this and then come back with some sort of pathetic explanation.
Regretably these police officers are paid for and managed by our politicians but once again the politicians will have forgotten this?
Get a grip Town Hall, wake up the Mayor, see if you can find out where Jeff is hiding, get a hold of our police chief and stop this stupidity!

You may remember Jeff posted on the forum that he would not use it again after I printed an email he sent me. So it looks like this has effected him using the Internet to keep everyone updated.

Just so that people are aware, my understanding is that it cost 200 euros to appeal against driving fines, got you by the short and curly's either way.

Yep Steve that is what he said (I have mentioned it a couple of times on here)but if i remember he also stated that his staff were free to read this forum and reply if they wanted to,Also that he had no objection to what he puts on his blog being placed on this forum by one of its members.Which means,I gather that he doesnt give a toss because if he doesnt put anything on his blog no one can put anything on this forum.
