Black Shirts in Action

It appears that the National police spent Friday night cruising around the urbanisation looking for a victim. In particular they were seen on several occasions in the Consum area.
Then apparently at dead on midnight they pulled up outside The Hogs Head, it seems that Paul the owner of the venue spotted them and stopped the singer in mid flow and turned everything off.
Well low and behold The Black shirts tumbled out of their car now without a prey, but they were saved by the fact that next door The George had a DJ on and he was still playing music. So they went ahead and closed down The George.

Perhaps the Bars that are not willing to abide by the 12.00 music rule will now start to take notice.
We the customers do not wish to end up without music in the Bars just because a few bar owners are sticking there fingers in the air.
Especially after all the work Tommy put into it.

What a wicked web we weave, when first we practise to deceive.
If what was ,stated was true, that the national Police were trawling around the Urb.and at the stroke of midnight, closed down a bar for having live music after midnight,Then i am afraid that in our mist we have a person who we got into employment cannot be trusted.
i will stress "if the comment was true"then what was Jeff ranting about on his blog, when he said the National Police were coming onto the Urb this week to check OPENING LICENSES,(which he claimed about 30 didnt) he then went on to explain what opening licenses were (ie ramps,Insurance, fire extinguishers, etc. etc.)Then his even sillier rant about bar owners with opening licenses, laughing at those being closed down)Was just a load of crap, because that would of been done in the daytime, not at bloody midnight. So either the writer of that comment was not telling the truth,or jeff was not being honest(I know who my money is on)If the comment was not the truth the author of it should apoligise immediately,if it was true then I would expect Jeff to resign immediately as a matter of honour,Unless of course he was told a pack of lies by someone above him,in that case ALL of those involved should go,Because i would never believe them again, and i hope that thousands of others on the Urb would think the same way.So jeff gett on your blog and explain or resign

Well......... we booked our flights to come to la marina this summer but have now booked hotels in Benidorm for the 10 days instead as don't want to be on a close down at mid-night so we will be spending our spending money there instead.

A very sensible idea, as that is a far more appropriate place to drink into the small hours than a residential area during your holiday. Have a great time, and don't worry about la Marina, despite the predictions of imminent financial meltdown by some, the place survived just fine prior to the relatively recent addition of late night bars and will continue to do so when they are forced to comply with the law.

flagkilo,I gather you are fairly new to the Urb.But it is not the late night license bars, that have been hit by the police in the last few years,if you had been a regular contrituter to this forum, you would see that the times some have had police attendance is 15.45,16.00 21.45 22.00.as a few.As for changing a holiday from La Marina to Benidorm.I took that as a contributer adding a bit of light heartedness to the conversation

Well giving the fact that ive lived in La Marina on and off for the past 7 yrs and my family have lived there over 7 yrs and some in laws are still living there we came to visit family and friends and not an all out drinking holiday but don't see why we should not be able to enjoy nights out with them and have to be back in bed by 12. We lived a short walk from Consum and had no problems with the noise. As friends ran bars and having working in the bars we know how essential tourist trade is to keep the bars going especially through the much quieter months so i may only be one tourist not returning but how many more will there be.

Itsmemw, let me explain if you don't see why; it's called the law. You have it in the uk also, which is why your local isn't ejecting drinkers at 2am, the law respects the people living nearby because they pay to live there. Do I care that you don't hear any bar noise during your brief stay, not really.

Itsmernw. Surely some of the time you spent here, you wouldnt of picked benidorm to have a drink after Midnight, because you would of known only live music has to stop at that time,Ambient music is allowed and during the summer the ordinary bars dont have to close until 02.30 and ones with late licenses 03.30.And believe me I could suffer that rather than go to Benidorm for 10 days, that is wghy i thought you was a wind up sort of pèrson

Almost hate to say it Alan but I agree with your comment wholeheartedly.
